South America Transport and Urbanism Blog

In 2021 and 2022, I spent a year in South America. Throughout my career, I have followed case studies and articles about the urban innovations of the region. I wanted to learn from experience and develop my professional knowledge about city planning, transit, and bikeway design. Indeed, becoming a user of the systems and infrastructure, and watching society interact around me, sparked new thoughts and ideas. In major cities, small towns, and rural highways, I kept notes on what worked well, and what didn’t. I hope to keep drawing from these examples as I continue my career.

During this time, I documented what I saw in a blog that is part travel memories, part urban planning case studies. I have selected the more relevant posts below.
