Wet Wheels

After 13 months, and 15,825 kilometers of pedaling, my South America bike tour is finished! As is customary with cyclists crossing continents, I finished at the ocean, and dipped a tire in.

Here’s what I actually biked. A little different from the map you see on The Ride, but I’m so happy it turned into a unique adventure all my own. In fact, this tour ended at the point I had planned to start!

Orange = Bicycle, Purple = Boat, Brown = Bus

In sticking to the theme of the tour, my last stop was a big city: Cartagena, Colombia. I’ve lived in New Orleans on the other side of the Caribbean, and I noticed right away how in the historic center, the architecture was reminiscent. Of course, the humid heat was another reminder.

The tour is over, but I plan to write another post to summarize my concluding thoughts. Stay tuned!

I have something new to remind me of my year of cities and mountains.
