Elevated Llamas

Crossing from Argentina to Bolivia featured two major themes: climbing up to 4300 meters in altitude, and looking at lots of llamas. For the llamas, the elevation is no problem. In fact, they are often seen standing on hills of dirt, and playfully bumping other llamas off.

One evening, I was camping in the wild, and had zipped myself into my tent. About a half hour later, I heard some noises, and looked outside. This is what I saw:

The landscapes varied, starting in a humid valley, and quickly drying out and becoming quite cold at night. The towns have had nice streets and parks to take a break and find a bebida fria.

Arriving in Uyuni, Bolivia, I visited a train graveyard.
